Knowing how to use special equipment can make life so much easier

Fred Vivian, who is 91, and has macular degeneration, is also a regular visitor to the Sight Centre where he has benefited from the support given by the staff and by being taught how to use the special equipment available, such as the talking microwave, Easy Readers, CCTV’s and Video Loops.

‘The staff at Bromley Sight Centre are very friendly, helpful and professional. They have provided me with a red striped white stick because I have a hearing loss now as well as my sight loss, and they have shown me how to use the microwave to cook simple tasty meals.’
