In April, one of our valued Vice Presidents, Sir Donal Gosling, was awarded the title of Vice Admiral of the United Kingdom. He wrote to us to express his pleasure at receiving the honour:
"Monday 23rd April was a most magnificent day for me when I received a special burgee following my appointment as Vice Admiral of the United Kingdom.
"Following the presentation HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh hosted a private luncheon for the party in the splendid setting of Windsor Castle. It included the First Sea Lord, Second Sea Lord and the Fleet Commander together with a few members of the Royal Household - not forgetting the corgis!
"It is a day I will never forget and I only wish that my mother was around to share the pleasure of the honour. However, I am lucky that so many friends have expressed their delight with the appointment and for that I am truly grateful."
