The aim of SAVI is to work with blind and partially sighted people in Surrey, to provide services in order
that they may lead fuller, more independent lives. Their services offered are extremely varied ranging from
classes in Braille, Moon and typing to grants and loans for individuals with needs related to sight loss. SAVI
is a great place for people to turn to for assistance with a high focus on registration of visual impairment,

Funding from the Greater London Fund for the Blind also assists them to provide further services including:
- information, advice and a professional assessment of needs for the individual as well as support for friends and family of visually impaired people
- mobility training and equipment
- day courses to improve everyday skills i.e. use of talking microwaves
- computer training with speech output and magnification
- home visiting scheme with friendly volunteers to help with reading mail or sharing interests
- awareness training for professionals and talks to local organisations and groups about sight loss
