- 1953 saw the Coronation of Her Majesty the Queen and a special Banquet was held
at the Savoy to mark her continued support of the Fund. Speakers at the evening
included Mrs Odette Churchill GC, Air Marshall Sir John Slessor and Lord Luke
- 52,000 sets of poster stamps were sold in a new fundraising drive
- A long term relationship was launched between the Lord Mayor of London and the Fund
with a Luncheon held at Mansion House
- A further successful launch took place for the Women of the Year luncheon which
recognised the achievements of women within the London area
- The Snow Ball at the Dorchester Hotel was successfully held on 3 successive years
during this decade
