Bank of BluesOn Tuesday 29th November a band named 'Bank of Blues' held a fundraising gig for the GLFB at Bluu in Moorgate. Fronted by Eden Riche, from Investec, the band played a host of blues and R&B covers to a lively audience of corporate supporters and friends.
The evening commenced with a welcoming address by our CEO Cass Edwards who paid tribute to the cultural enrichment of our lives and made possible by the talents of so many leading blind musicians from the original 20's bluesman Blind Lemon Jefferson thru Ray Charles and more recently Steve Wonder and the classical crossover Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli to name but a few!
Crispian Mills
Finally a surprise visitor on the night was Crispian Mills – formerly of Kula Shaka, and grandson of our late Vice President Sir John Mills, who gave impromptu rendition of his own penned and highly entertaining ' Bankers Blues' !
After hearing of her sons involvement Hayley Mills who helped the charity launch its Geranium appeal with the Prime Minister at Downing Street last April said ......
