On 26th May 2011, a very special 90th anniversary event was attended by our Royal Patron, The Countess of Wessex at Browns Hotel in Mayfair.
Hosted by Sir Rocco Forte, one of the Fund’s Vice Presidents, the Reception Party was also attended by Vice President’s Cherie Blair, Sir Donald Gosling, as well as a great number of very generous supporters. In addition friends from the world of sport and entertainment including Garth Crooks, Luther Blissett, Paul Elliott and MC Harvey, were amongst those joining in the celebrations.
In a most moving and personal tribute to the Fund, The Countess reflected on the accomplishments of the Charity during its long and proud history, and spoke with passion of the pressing issues currently being addressed by the Fund in improving the lives of visually impaired people across London.

Cherie Blair spoke about the need to maintain and extend key services needed by all those with sensory impairment, and concluded with a warm expression of thanks to Sir Rocco Forte, and all those present for their financial support.
The next major fundraising event will take place in July at The Lanesborough Hotel where the Guest of Honour will be Sir John Major- another Vice President of the Fund.
We look forward to this occasion in support of our continuing work of helping blind and visually impaired people across in the Greater London area!
