Sir John cutting his cake on his 90th birthday
As Senior Vice President of the Greater London Fund for the Blind, the late Sir John Mills did much to help raise the funds so vital to improving the lives of visually impaired people.
Having little sight himself, he knew only too well the problems that can face blind people - problems that we help to overcome through a wide range of services including education, rehabilitation and mobility training, counselling, home visits, employment and residential care.
Over the years he worked tirelessly to raise funds and awareness for the GLFB and even held his 90th and 95th birthday parties as events to raise money for the fund.
After his death in 2005 we re-named our Head Office Sir John Mills House, in honour of his work for the charity.
