A quick note on fundraising efficiency
At first glance it can look like GLFB has relatively high administration and fundraising costs. However, when you dig a bit deeper it quickly becomes apparent that giving through us is cost effective and efficient.
First of all, the majority of our members only have limited fundraising ability. Generally, they are small, community based organisations and it simply wouldn’t be cost effective or feasible for each of them to have their own fundraising team.
By pooling their resources through GLFB we are able to provide fundraising expertise and leadership, which means more money ends up where it matters: helping visually impaired people.

As you can see, in 2010/11 GLFB compares very favourably against other charities in our main three areas of fundraising and is more effective than many other much larger charities:
